Jerry Goldsmith’s spectacular score to the largely unsuccessful movie from 1984, Supergirl. Originally, Goldsmith was considered for Superman The Movie and the tale goes that the Supergirl theme was infact the theme written for Superman. However Supergirl flopped and didnt provide the action and excitement of the male counterpart. Jerry Goldsmith showcased once again that a poor movie can be improved with a great musical score and wow did we get one. Goldsmith was on fire in the early 80’s and his incredible skill in composing rousing themes and action cues were miles ahead of anyone at that time, proving his superior talents as a fine composer. This special edition 2CD comprises the entire score including alternates and outtakes. Simply a brilliant score and one of his finest.
